Salon Supplies Distributor Hair’s the Bling Celebrates 22 Years of Business with a Rebrand and Vision for Business
Elgin, Illinois – March 5th, 2024 – Hair’s the Bling, a professional beauty supplies distributor servicing hair salons in the Midwest since 2002, today unveils a new vision to meet the needs of owners and stylists with a fresh new look and name: HTB Beauty.
Initially opening its doors as Salon Memo over two decades ago by Darren Stork, the full-service wholesale distributor began as a drop shipper to hair salons from the Chicagoland area and beyond into Ohio and surrounding states. In 2011, the first stage evolution of the company’s mission was fulfilled when it rebranded to Hair’s The Bling, with a broader idea of what salons needed to survive and thrive.
“A lot has changed in the beauty industry,” said HTB Beauty President and CEO Darren Stork, “back in 2011 the reason for our initial name change stemmed from where the industry was headed. I think a hairdresser is only as good as what they have to work with, but also what they know. Hair’s The Bling delivered on the promise of helping salons and stylists differentiate their business with boutique products that were unique, new and had that “bling factor”…that little something special.”
Just as the Internet and social media have transformed the way in which we connect, work, shop and live, these changes also have influenced changes in the beauty industry in the 2020’s and beyond. From changes in the way salon-goers discover new products and solutions for their hair challenges to the increasing shift away from a traditional salon/full time employee businesses to studio owners, all are factors shaping the future of the industry.
“Our mission hasn’t changed, but our focus is more keenly pinpointed on streamlining our offerings and offering more complete learning experiences at our studio to pair product mix with best practices, business and giving individual stylists a clearer path to advance their career,” Said Stork.
With a cleaner logo that simplifies the original full name of the company, HTB Beauty will be rolling out a fresh, new look and enhanced experience for existing customers in the months to come. Beyond the cosmetic look and feel of the website, its bimonthly news magazine, and catalog, starting in May salons will be able to fully access their accounts online in a new wholesale webstore. Beyond discovered new products, treatments and tools and placing reorders 24/7, a newly expanded menu of hands-on learning classes will be offered.
“We’ve rewritten a lot of our curriculum to offer a more complete learning experience here at our studio,” said HTB Beauty Director of Education Eddie Ohanian. “Virtual learning is great for the basics, but stylists really are looking for more classes that give them hands-on learning opportunities along with a better understanding of how to apply from and even profit from what they’ve learned.”
Classes range anywhere from the ins and outs of running a successful hair extension business to advanced color toning and techniques with permanent haircolor and offer CE credits on every class on the menu.
The new HTB Beauty will be in attendance at the April 20th to the 22nd America’s Beauty Show at booth #1506 with special classes offered throughout the event in classroom 52.
